Actress Claire Foy has revealed she is taking a career break after splitting from her husband Stephen Campbell Moore earlier this year and managing an "exhausting" schedule for months.

The 34-year-old actress is best-known for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in Netflix drama The Crown, and also filmed three movies this year.

Claire told the Daily Mirror newspaper that her split from Stephen was "complex," and feels that some time off will work wonders for her emotionally, but also in terms of her career.

The pair have a three-year-old daughter, Ivy, together.

"Making The Crown and the three movies was really rewarding and amazing but quite exhausting," she said.

"I think you have to live your life in order to be an actor, otherwise you've got nothing to tell."

The actress also said she suffers "really badly" with anxiety, which is "not about work but life in general".

"There's a thing of thinking somebody's life on the outside looks amazing…Internally, everyone's struggling."
