She told People magazine: "I'd been there before in that darkness. I would've understood if he left. He was praying for a wife. He didn't pray for a depressed wife."
Despite Michelle calling off the engagement, Chad stood by her and the couple are now better than ever.
"It's not just about marrying Chad. I finally found someone to do life with," she added.
