After six months of marriage, the pair filed for divorce earlier this year but then appeared to have reconciled when they took to Instagram to share tributes to each other on their first wedding anniversary.
According to The Blast, Jeff returned to court on Thursday 13 December to resume the case and has reportedly served the Teen Wolf actor with a preliminary declaration of disclosure.
This means that he plans to hand over financial information which will allow the divorce to proceed.
The development comes after seven months of inactivity in the case, in which Colton initially requested that his estranged husband was not paid spousal support, and stated that each side would pay their own legal bills.
