The musician popped the question to the 'Game of Thrones' actress in October 2017 and announced the news on Instagram with a picture of the ring. The pair have had a relaxed engagement, but are reportedly set to marry sometime later this year in France.
Ahead of the season eight release of the HBO show, Sophie featured in the May issue of Harper's Bazaar UK and admitted that social media brought the pair together.
The 23-year-old told the magazine that she and Joe "have a lot of mutual friends" who had "been trying to introduce us for a long time." She said: "We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue."
Sophie also gushed about The Jonas Brothers member and called him "lovely."
"He's just the funniest. You wouldn't expect he's about to turn 30 this year," she explained. "He's the most fun, energetic, positive person I've ever seen."
The main giveaway about the upcoming nuptials was that the pair are trying to keep things as low-key as possible and are hoping for an intimate affair.
