The couple, both 49, announced their engagement in March and while the bride-to-be has some ideas for her big day, she doesn't want to race through the decision making.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she explained: "It's going good. I think we have a pretty busy year ahead of us, so you know, we are taking it slow.
"There's no rush. We really see this as something that's gonna be forever, and we're gonna just take our time and do it right. And do it not rushed."
But the star admitted that she's done plenty of research, on everything from dresses to venues, since Alex popped the question while on a romantic getaway earlier this year.
