The revelation came after the actor was spotted whispering in the singer's ear while on a red carpet in Hollywood.
The 42-year-old remained tight-lipped when asked what he had told Katie, joking: "Secrets. It was secrets."
He then revealed to 'Entertainment Tonight': "We have a black board and we write messages of love."
Orlando proposed to Katy in February, and things couldn't be better for the pair as they prepare for married life. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star previously said: "We're doing great. Being engaged is a lot of work, but we're building a castle that we can inhabit, a metaphorical castle."
