The singer and model are set to walk down the aisle for a second time this weekend, having married in secret in New York last September.
According to a source, they have used this year to strengthen their union before celebrating with family and friends.
The insider told PEOPLE.com: "They are both beyond excited to celebrate with friends this weekend. They are happy that they are finally having a religious ceremony.
"It's very special for them. This past year has really been a test for them. A test on their marriage. They are very proud of how far they have come.
"Justin is doing much better. He keeps focusing on his music and seems excited about it."
Most of the details of the lavish South Carolina celebration have been kept secret, but it's believed they have hired Daniel Caeser to sing at the reception.
