The star shocked her 'Today' co-hosts by revealing that Joel Schiffman, her partner of six years, popped the question on a recent vacation to Mexico.
Flaunting her new ring, she gushed: "I have to tell you something. A friend of ours asked me to let you guys in on a secret. Her initials are Hoda Kotb and she's engaged...
"We ended up having a little dinner on the beach. And he was like, 'I have something else I would like to say,' and he said some beautiful things, and then he got down on one knee. Then he said, 'Would you be my wife?"'
Co-stars Jenna Bush Hager, Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin and Al Roker all rushed to offer their congratulations after getting over their initial shock.
Hoda admitted that she was also taken aback by the proposal, saying: "I was totally shocked...He had a good poker face."
The couple share two adopted children, baby Hope and two year-old Haley, and are unsure how to break the news to their daughters.
