Weddings: make your ceremony unique...

A string quartet can be an ideal accompaniment to both civil and religious ceremonies. Music fulfils an essential role at several key points in the ceremony, and members of The Ulster String Quartet are always available to discuss the ways in which we can make the music for each such occasion as enjoyable, personal and memorable as possible. For church ceremonies, an organist often accompanies the hymns, but we will gladly undertake this role if required.

As the guests arrive and take their seats

For the entrance of the bride (Processional)

We can also provide additional musicians should you so wish. We regularly play with the leading lights of the classical music scene in Northern Ireland. Whatever instrumentation, we can help cater for any ensemble you want. Should you wish be to have a singer perform at your wedding look no further - The Ulster String Quartet are proud to have an exclusive relationship with nationally renowned soprano Rebekah Coffey. Rebekah has appeared as soloist with many of the UK’s leading orchestras including the Ulster Orchestra, the Hallé and BBC Concert Orchestra as well as the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra. Her most recent performance with the Ulster Orchestra was at Hillsborough Castle in the BBC Proms in the Park.

Wedding breakfasts, formal dinners, drinks receptions and parties
The sound of a string quartet can greatly enhance the ambience of a formal dinner or reception. The Ulster String Quartet performs at many such occasions, lending a discreet air of sophistication with a selection of classical favourites such as Haydn and Mozart string quartets and classics from the operatic repertoire.

We are often asked to provide background music for the full duration of such events. Alternatively, we can play just whilst the guests arrive and drink their apéritifs, in order to create an atmosphere conducive to conversation and to establish the character of the dinner to come.
